Spicy Pan Roasted Chayote

Instructions

  1. In a cast iron pan heat coconut oil and add onion and garlic when onion becomes translucent, about 4-5 minutes. 

  2. Add chayote squash (peel the skin and chop into 1/2 inch pieces) 

  3. Add seasoning and cook until squash is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. 

  4. Enjoy with bowl of rice or flatbread. 

Ingredients
  • 2 Chayote Squash

  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt or to tase

  • 1 tablespoon cocount oil

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
